Hi there! We're Taylor and Emilio, founders of ET Designs, alongside our fur babies, Eva and WallE.

We create our products with one intention in mind: to help people slow down and savor the small moments in life.

In a world with constant pressure, we often find ourselves living on autopilot, giving our attention and energy to everything except what truly matters—the genuine well-being of ourselves and those we love.

Uplifting atmospheres for escape

We put effort into creating uplifting atmospheres for us to escape to in our home so that we have a safe space from the turmoil of the outside world and that's what we hope to share with you.

Luxury is a mentality and has the ability to be redefined for each person's specific tastes.

Because in today's day & economy, one thing we believe to be true is that luxury is not defined by any price, brand name, or by any material possession at all.

Some of the accessible luxuries we aim to help you experience are calmness, vulnerability, authenticity, fulfillment, confidence, and happiness, among others.

Through the soothing glow of a candle and the satiation of a dope playlist, we want to help you create a space that nurtures peace and healing right from where you are.

Our Backgrounds

Candlemaking

Our journey as candlemakers actually began in Seattle. The babies & us took a vacation there and we visited a create-your-own-candle studio (Elm Candle Bar) where you mix your own fragrance to pour in a candle that you can take home. Long story short, we fell in love with the fragrance creation process which is why we're here today! This candle bar also inspired us to use coconut apricot wax in our candles!

3D Printing

Emilio got into 3D-printing during a Halloween season that we were dressing up as Loki variants and needed to be "horny." Everything online for the costumes we had in mind weren't quite right so we decided to plunge into printing our own costume accessories. From there it spawned into printing different things for around the house and as the print technology kept improving, it lined up perfectly with the candles. We tried using lids from candle suppliers and we weren't impressed. So we decided to design and develop our lids in-house out of 3D prints. Which to our surprise retains the candle scent in the lid very nicely and turns our candles into a decorative art piece.

Music

I've (Tay) always been a fan, lover, and appreciator of music. I think music holds so much value in our world and that we don't realize how important the music we listen to is. We create & listen to music to advocate, share in feelings, reminisce, and dream. But I know from constantly listening to music that we can get in music ruts & need to be exposed to something new. That community aspect and the ease of connecting to music is where our idea for including music in our vibe creations came from.

And because when you think about setting a vibe, it usually includes music but random playlist searching usually results in playlists that don't really flow well or fit what you're feeling. We put effort into making all of our playlists no-skip and fitting to the vibe!

Art

I (Tay) didn't start practicing art until I was a senior in high school but once I discovered painting, I was hooked. I wasn't a master painter or anything but I made art that made me happy (and decorated the walls of my dorm rooms). I was only painting on canvas until 2022 when we got our iPad which I then started practicing Procreate on. I'm still learning but all of my first designs are our best-selling stickers so life is weird lol. With my art I always just want to portray positive messages of inclusion, love, representation, and silly humor.

Sustainability

We are still a very small business but we're trying our best to incorporate sustainability practices now and for the future in any way we can. For candle orders, instead of Styrofoam packing protection, we use starch-based packing peanuts that dissolve in water (really!).

We use water-activated tape and simple packaging to encourage our customers to recycle or compost packaging when they can. We're always looking for ways to make our business more eco-conscious so let us know if you have any concerns or suggestions!

The Future

We have such exciting plans for the future of our sustainability. We understand that repeatedly buying new candles is pretty wasteful so in the future, we look to add candle refill options for all of our scents that way customers can reuse previously purchased candle vessels.

We also are looking in the future to make our own candle vessels with concrete and design them in a way that they can be reused as planters after the candle is done!

So, we’re just two people who came from what we call "matrix upbringings" who want something better for ourselves and our futures than the environments and mentalities we were raised in. Through our own journeys of healing, living intentionally, and self-validation, we’ve worked to create a life that’s truly fulfilling for us. And that's exactly what we want to share with you: that you don’t have to accept the negative conditions or mentalities others try to impose on you.

You deserve to be treated with love, respect, and intention—by others and by yourself. Life isn’t easy, and most of us are simply doing our best to be good people and live meaningful lives. We all deserve that. Unfortunately, there are some who are determined to stay miserable and will try to drag others down with them. Misery loves company, as they say.

What we want is for people to feel heard and seen, so we can stop treating each other like shit. Life isn’t a competition; it’s a leisurely walk through a garden. You can either race through it, always chasing something that seems out of reach, or you can take your time, appreciating the beauty around you. The only competition worth having is the one where you constantly improve—for yourself and your loved ones.

So be yourself in all your weirdness, constantly rediscover yourself, make mistakes, and ACTUALLY learn from them. Surround yourself with people who will accept and appreciate you for who you truly are, and always work to reduce your own harmful behaviors first.
